October 1-2, 2026
Budapest, Hungary
In October, the US-Hungary Business Council (USHBC) hosted its fourth-annual US-Hungary Economic Summit during the council's 11th annual business mission to Budapest.
The Summit kicked off with a plenary session with H.E. István Kapitány, Minister of Economy and Energy, Dr. Judit Zolnay, State Secretary for Foreign Economic Affairs, and Bence Buday, CEO of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA). Following, the USHBC delegation had the opportunity to meet with Attila Zoltán Kövesdy, State Secretary from the Ministry of Finance.
Throughout the day, delegates also participated in productive business-focused roundtables on Healthcare and Defense. These meetings featured discussions with representatives of the Ministry of Economy & Energy, Ministry of Health, National Health Insurance Fund, Hungary Investment Promotion Agency, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, and U.S. Embassy Budapest.
In the evening, we also had the pleasure of attending a networking reception hosted by Neil Pickett, Commercial Counselor, and Caroline Savage, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, U.S. Embassy Budapest, to continue conversations from earlier in the day and to make new connections.
On the final day of the Summit, companies in the delegation had the opportunity to attend bilateral meetings with select government representatives to discuss specific topics in more detail.
